Stocktake with Mobile
Stocktake with mobile devices speeds up your stocktaking processes with more accuracy then to print out a list of stock items and count it manually. However, it is difficult to make things simple. Most of the application out there does require preparation of stock item list or they are simply too complex to start.
We look for stocktake mobile app with a few simple criteria:
1. Able to compliment Moneyworks accounting solution
2. Read barcode as it reduces our eye power with less errors
3. Minimum data entry since we are on mobile
4. Simple to setup and easily available
We found one on Google Play for our Android users, as there is already solution by Moneyworks for Apple users.
Pre-requisite for users to benefit from this article:
- Must be using Android phone users
- Must be using Moneyworks Gold, Moneyworks Datacentre or Moneyworks Now
- Require to do regular stocktake

- Download Barcode Counter App from Google Play
- Run the App (remember to allow camera, photos and file access for this app)
- Start New Scan
- Enter Scan title (normally we mark with a date) and create a new scan
- Start scanning all your stock
- You can choose to scan multiple times on same item or key in the quantity
- Once completed, share to your cloud drive so that it will synchronise to your computer
Once you are on your computer, you can import the scan results into Moneyworks to compare against the current stock you are holding. Do your necessary stock adjustment from there and you are done.
