Sourcing for good accounting solution in Singapore can be quite a major task as there are too many solutions out there in the market place. Even as vendor, it took us quite a while to conclude what product we deem as good for our clients.
Over the years, we had been approached by many solution providers, some coming all the way from Malaysia to showcase their products. But we had been faithful to only 2.
Quality of Good Accounting Solution
As responsible solution providers, we have our criteria for choose the products we want to represent:
Product stability: As solution provider, if product is buggy, it keeps us busy ineffectively. As we will be promoting and supporting the product for many years to come, it makes sense to keep our minds off product issues. We rather choose focus on helping customers adopt the solutions according to their needs.
Cost vs benefits: As our customers are usually SMEs, we need to be in their shoes too. So as SMEs, we look for products that give us the best feature with least price combination. Note that it must be a combination.
Technologically up to date: Product has to be able to cope with latest technology and also improve over time and with time. Means we should see significant upgrade of features, functions and also capability over time.
AMC started with MYOB in 1997, pioneering MYOB movement till now 2019. Over the past 22 years, we started positioning MYOB as simple to adopt accounting solution. In 2005, we begin to notice many customers has outgrown MYOB as performance begin to lag. Customers’ transactions are growing at a pace faster than the software does. Today, we are still selling MYOB as a stable product with simple functionality for customers with basic operations and lesser transactions.
Since 2005, we took about a year to look for good replacement for MYOB, and found Moneyworks in 2006. We took nearly one year to evaluate before officially introducing at the last quarter of 2006.
Fast forward to 2019, we are still very much into Moneyworks solution as product growth has been advancing with time and customers’ needs. Moneyworks version 8 has multi-warehouse location, batch and serial number tracking, report writing. These features makes them in par with the classification of mini-ERP solution without the price of an ERP.
Moving forward, as Moneyworks will be our choice recommendation to our SME customers, even though we are still an MYOB (now known as ABSS) professional partner. Our choice is even made clearer whenever a customer ask for something we previously found to be impossible fast, good and cheap solution!
