We have successfully tested and launched our own devices monitoring on our SME ONE server series of services.
We have deployed temperature, light and motion sensors around our own office areas. So here are the practical usage:
- Temperature – to know which area temperature are higher or lower especially for server areas to avoid over-heating. Not to forget we are able to tell if the aircon in the office has been accidentally left running. Aircon left running over weekends can cause businesses monetary loss especially with current high energy price.
- Light – ability to know if someone else is still in the office or light left turn on after everyone has left the office. Even though it will not cost as much damage as leaving aircon running, it is still wastage of energy to business. It can also tell you what time is the light turned on.
- Motion – detects motion can add security to company premise. It can trigger an email for you to check on the surveillance camera to see if there is an intruder to the office.
All these sensors are low cost sensor that is worth the cost, so as long as you are using our SME ONE server you are able to deploy them to enhance your premise security and manage your energy wastage cost.
